Coracle Making Long Weekender

NOT GOING AHEAD IN 2022, DATES FOR 2023 TBC
(Now includes Introductory Coracle Society Membership)

Build your own coracle like our ancestors did! Use it for fishing, foraging river banks, bringing back sheep from the other side or simply messing about on the river.

The course takes place over one intensive long-weekend and by the end your ‘curragh’ (a light-weight willow coracle) only requires waterproofing before it can be used on the water. We supply the waterproofing too; it’s easy to do but has to be done at home since it takes a few days to dry.

You will need an estate car or at least roof bars and ratchet straps to get your coracle home – we can’t post ’em!

Lifting the frame out of the ground is always a tense moment!

Coracle making is also a great activity for couples. You get to make and enjoy your boat together – see the couples discount rate below.
